Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?...

So do not worry, saying, What shall we eat? or What shall we drink? or What shall we wear? For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Matthew 6:26-27, 31-33 (NIV)

So, what is the Kingdom of God? That is a loaded question. There are many who have a much deeper and wider revelation of it than me. But for now, it will suffice to define it as: a place or territory where the King has dominion. A Kings domain, where justice, law, systems, order, economy and culture are established according to the Kings will. A territory where the King has dominion, and everything and everyone within that territory belongs to the King. In this context, it makes sense that the Bible teaches so much about stewardship. Everything we have and everything we are belongs to Him. We are stewards of everything He has already given us. Because our King is Jesus, He owns it all, and everything finds its origin and purpose in Him (Colossians 1:16). If I imagine myself sitting in the crowd among the disciples and listening to the words of Jesus, the message I would be hearing is:

Dont just live as if youre fighting to survive from one day to the next. Trust your heavenly Father, because He provides for you and He loves to meet all your needs. Start dreaming. Dream with God about his Kingdom and the part you are destined to play in being a unique expression of his Kingdom on earth.
